Terms and process

Clear expectations before a website project starts.

These are the general working terms for SebsWebs. Every paid project should still have a written quote or agreement that confirms the exact scope, price and payment stages.

Quotes and scope

A quote will explain the package, pages, included features, price, revision limit and any separate costs before work starts. Extra pages, extra revisions, major direction changes or new features can be quoted separately.

Payments

  • Starter jobs are usually paid upfront or with at least a 50% deposit.
  • Larger builds can be split into deposit, build and launch payments.
  • Monthly care plans are paid in advance by bank transfer.
  • Final files, launch or handover may wait until the agreed payment has been received.

Client content

The client is responsible for sending accurate text, photos, logo files, contact details, service information and any legal or industry-specific wording the business needs. Delays in content can delay the project.

Domains, hosting and third-party costs

Clients can own their domain and important website accounts. If a client wants to handle hosting themselves, SebsWebs can hand over the finished site and quote future edits separately. If a client wants SebsWebs to manage hosting, checks and small updates, that is charged as a monthly care plan. Domain names, email inboxes, paid plugins, CMS costs and third-party subscriptions are quoted separately unless clearly included in writing.

Revisions and launch

Packages include a clear number of revision rounds. Small changes are expected, but a full redesign or new project direction is outside the original scope. Before launch, the website should be checked on mobile and desktop, links should be tested, and final approval should be confirmed by email.

Portfolio use

SebsWebs may show finished work in its portfolio unless the client asks in writing not to. SebsWebs may also include a small "Website by SebsWebs" credit link in the website footer, unless agreed otherwise before the project starts. Any private logins, passwords or sensitive business information will not be published.

Data protection on client projects

The client is normally responsible for deciding why and how personal information is collected through its website. Where SebsWebs hosts, maintains or accesses a system containing the client's customer information, the parties will agree the relevant data-protection responsibilities in writing before that feature is launched.

  • The client is responsible for providing suitable privacy information and identifying a lawful basis for its customer-data uses.
  • SebsWebs will only access or use client personal information as needed to deliver documented services, maintain security or comply with the law.
  • Access controls, hosting providers, backups, retention, deletion and handover arrangements should be agreed for editable sites, customer-submission tools and managed hosting.
  • Clients should not send passwords or sensitive personal information through the public quote form.
